F-22 Paint Booth Hangar

Langley Air Force Base, VA
F-22 Paint Booth Hangar

Overview

The new design-build F-22 Low Observable/Composite Repair (LO/CR) Hangar Bay at Langley Air Force Base, VA serves as a high-tech, high-efficiency, make-up air paint booth to support the technical coatings of the F-22 fighter aircraft.  Work on this critical project consisted of the addition of a 12,800 SF paint booth hangar as well as an administration area.  The project included the construction of a connection to the existing hangar space while keeping the adjacent hangar fully operational. Utilities were connected to the existing base utilities and the exterior architectural appearance matched the existing hangars.  Five 9s completed Fundamental and Enhanced commissioning. The project received LEED Gold Certification.
