The new five-story College of Education Building houses classrooms, the Counseling and Human Services Department, EFL Labs, TCEP Conference area, Teaching and Learning Department, STEMPS lab spaces and offices, hinged together by a sculptural glass tower that was constructed to be the focal point of the building. The facility includes a large multi-purpose auditorium, 11 University classrooms with the capacity to hold 500 students, 151 faculty offices, 9 laboratories for science, technology education, mathematics and industrial technology, dedicated spaces for the Monarch Teach Program, the Virginia Early Childhood Policy Center and ODU’s Literacy Center. The building also has a learning commons. Five Nines Company provided fundamental commissioning services for the MEP systems on this project.
