District of Columbia Court of Appeals

Overview

The DC Court of Appeals building is a historic courthouse built in 1820 which was originally used as the first City Hall and is now a National Historic Landmark and prominent structure on Judiciary Square. The renovation of this four-level structure enhanced the facilities to include a ceremonial courtroom, reception spaces and attorney conference rooms, as well as the installation of new state of the art mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. Commissioning of the unique systems included an energy recovery chiller, air recovery units and an emergency generator.

Five Nines Company performed Fundamental and Enhanced commissioning.  Tasks included design reviews, site inspections, development and execution of testing procedures, system integration and training verification, among other commissioning tasks.
